NEW DELHI, Feb 22 (PRIME) -- SMM, a Russian producer of heavy reloading equipment for ports and transport terminals, has opened a subsidiary in India’s Mumbai, the Russian trade mission to India said in a statement on Tuesday.
“The SMM group has finished registration of a subsidiary in India. Industrial company ZAOSMM CRANES Private Limited, located in the city of Mumbai, specializes in designing and production of heavy lifting equipment on the territory of India,” the statement read.
“The launch of the subsidiary is connected to implementation of an ongoing project for exports of loading equipment, and to the plans on further expansion of presence in the region.”
In 2020, SMM won an international auction to deliver a portal crane with a carrying capacity of up to 10 tonnes to Cochin Shipyard, India’s largest shipbuilding facility, in April–June 2022.
